Asir Garh, Burhanpur – This is a fortress which marked the beginning of the Deccan region. Almost few centuries back, the area from Delhi to Asir Garh was called ‘Hindustan’. It is believed that Emperor Akbar captured the fort during the 16th century. The best time to visit this site is from September to December.

Buddhist temple, Sanchi – This is a sacred place for Buddhist temple. It was built by Lord Gautam Buddha himself. It is a world heritage site and attracts the lot of visitors from different parts of the world. The best time to visit this place is from October to January.

Chand Bawdi, Rajasthan – This is a well, which is of 13 storeys deep. It was built between 800 and 900 AD. There are beautiful steps carved out to let people go inside the well. Best time to visit this place is from October to March.

Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu – It is a place which has the rich history. Many mythological stories are also associated with it. The place is known for its stone carvings, temples made of single stone, artistic sculptures etc. There are many hotels and cafes in at this place. Gol Gumbaz, Bijapur – This place was built in the honour of king Mohammed Adil Shah. The interiors of the dome are examples of great architectural work. The best place to visit the place is from September to January.

Vaishali, Bihar – It is another holy place for Buddhist people as it is believed that Lord Buddha’s last sermon was held nearby this place. The place has a museum which showcases the excavations that were done at this place. It were famous during the Mauryan and Gupta dynasty as trade and commerce was carried out at this place during that period.

Jhansi Fort – Another place known for its rich historical significance is the Jhansi fort. Inside the fort one can see different areas like the place from where the queen ran when the fort was invaded by the Britishers, place where the queen used to spend her time in the afternoon, place from where the king used to address the local people etc.
